Hello Charlie, In order to use the full range of features of the robot, the iRobot Home app is required. The robot can still be operated from the Clean button for cleaning missions, but you would be missing on a lot of features offered from the app. The iRobot® HOME App is designed for use on iOS devices running OS 15 or higher and Android devices running OS 9.0 or higher. It is not compatible with desktop operating systems, Windows Mobile OS or Kindle tablets/Fire OS.
