Your Roomba will simply navigate around small items like dog toys. While it's recommended you clear the floor before a mission for a faster and more comprehensive clean (much like you would before using a traditional vacuum) it's not at all necessary. Roomba will adapt and course-correct.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will either push it around or work around it. That depends on the size and type of toy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If it’s a ball or a hard chew toy it’s fine. It will just go around it. If it’s something cloth or floppy you will want to make sure it’s picked up before you let it run.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The robot usually pushes the toy around and still cleans under it. I have light plush squeaky toys for my dogs and the robot bumps into it and senses it, however since it doesn’t pose resistance on the hard wood floor, it usually just pushes it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It bumps then goes around if it is too large to suck up
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Usually, it just pushes stuff out of the way. BUT, in a more or less worst-case scenario it runs right over a thinnish toy/object/clothing that is made of some fabric material (as opposed to metal/plastic) and it eats it up to the point where it gets stuck in the rollers. The rollers are strong, so... Also, it doesn't like throw rugs with fringe: chomp, chomp and nastiness may ensue. And beware of dog poop, it’ll track it all over. The end result is that a little prep to remove problem stuff before firing up the vac is a really good idea. Which means this is not really a set-and-forget gadget.
