That flickering/grainy behavior you’re seeing with your j5create JCD397 usually points to one of a few common causes. Cable or port wear – Over time, HDMI/DisplayPort connectors loosen or degrade, causing signal dropouts. Dock power limitations – If the dock or laptop is not receiving sufficient power, video output may flicker or degrade. Driver / firmware changes – Windows Updates or GPU driver updates can affect multi-monitor stability. Resolution/refresh mismatch – Running monitors at high refresh rates or mixed resolutions can cause instability. 1. Test with different cables/monitors - Swap HDMI/DP cables with known good ones. - Try a single monitor at a time → see if it stabilizes. 2. Check power supply -The JCD397 supports up to 100W PD passthrough. - Make sure your laptop’s charger is powerful enough (e.g., 90–100W). - If you’re using a lower-wattage adapter, the dock may cut power from displays intermittently. 3. Update drivers & firmware - Update your graphics drivers (Intel, NVIDIA, AMD). - Check Windows Update for USB-C / Thunderbolt drivers. 4. Resolution & refresh rate - Set monitors to 60 Hz temporarily. - Avoid running dual 4K at 60 Hz unless your laptop GPU supports it. 5. Test on another laptop - If the dock works fine elsewhere, issue is with your current laptop.
