“i set this up without issue but it was choppy, i switched my pc's wireless adaptor to 5ghz and then it coudlnt find the screencast device anymore, it says it works with 5ghz bands but would only use 2.4ghz for me”

Please make sure your PC is up to date such as BIOS, Drivers, Chipset, etc. through your PC's manufactures website.
