“I have an MSI GF 63 laptop. Will this docking station work with this laptop? The last one I bought ( j5 create jcd543) won’t work even after purchasing the extra power adaptor.”

Works with my Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 so I imagine it will work with your laptop. Was the power adapter 65 Watts? You also need software to run the dock.

The JCD381 will work on the MSI GF63 with proper installation of our driver found on our website under the "Support" tab. The JCD543 requires a feature from your computer called "DisplayPort Mode" and "Power Delivery" over USB-C. MSI's website states "1x Type-C USB3.1 Gen1". Please refer to the manufacturer of your hardware for more information on your device.
