There is a USB C port for adding power to the unit.

Apple superdrive players are recommended to connect to computer. The pass-through charger (USB-C port) on JCD373 supports up to 60W to the USB ports and charging your computer at the same time, therefore may not provide enough power for the superdrive to power on.
