The Jackery Powerstations and SolarSagas are rated IP67/IP68, meaning they are technically dust and weather-resistant, but Jackery still doesn't recommend leaving them out in the rain. Assuming the worst case, you have a 5wats water pump. And if you have a 40watt or 100watt Jackery Solar panel, you would be able to power this fountain virtually indefinitely (preferably on dry days). It would only consume about 120watts per day. A 40watt solar panel could have a rough estimate of 200-240watts per day - even in bad lighting. It should work. In the worst case scenario, you could bring the Jackery in to charge indoors or plug in into AC power for long periods of bad sunlight.

With a battery capacity of 288Wh and an output power of 300W, it's essential to know the power consumption of your small bird/water fountain to determine if it can be powered by our generator and for how long. While the Explorer 300 Plus can indeed be used with a solar panel add-on, we would like to advise against permanently installing it outdoors to charge the fountain. Prolonged exposure to sunlight can degrade the battery life over time. If you plan to use it outdoors, we recommend providing a cover or stand to protect it from the elements. This will help maintain the longevity and performance of the device. To estimate the runtime, we use a straightforward calculation: multiply the battery capacity by 0.85 and divide by the device's power consumption. Please be aware that the actual runtime can vary based on personal usage, as this is a simplifying formula. For a more accurate assessment, please provide the power requirements of your bird/water fountain, and we can assist you further in determining the feasibility of using the Explorer 300 Plus for your needs (Customer Service: [email protected] / +1-888-502-2236 Weekdays 9AM to 5PM PST).
