The plus and minus. But you have to hold them down. Just easier to use phone volume rocker.

The volume increase button is the "O" button. Don't hold it down push and release for every step up in volume. "X" is the reverse. If you hold down on the "O" button for 3 seconds, and it's connected wirelessly (bluetooth) to a compatible device, it will go to the next song on the device. "X" is the reverse. If you press and release the power on button, while connected to the compatible device mentioned before it will pause/stop, the playback on the device. This comes in handy on my iPod Touch. When I shut off the speaker, it turns off the playback on the iPod first!

I hope this helps, the manual didn't help me much. I'm kind of an experimenter!

i had to use the volume button on my laptop to control the sound volume. Speaker volume buttons do not work. This speaker is not user friendly.

Use press the "+" sign to increase volume and the "o" to lower the volume. Hold and press the "-" to turn on/off. The USB charging cable fits nicely beneath the unit.

In the middle of the "O"... The "X" is volume down, and right between the two is a raised line which is the power button.
