• They should be charged until the red light goes out.

• The blue light indicates they are connected to the phone or device. Once they are placed in the case correctly, the LED should be red to indicate they are charging. If they are in the case, and the light is blue, i would say they are not in the case correctly and have not turned off and started charging.
