Has anyone used it on a crossbow or fishing rod? null

I don’t think it will fit securely around something as small as a fishing rod. You would be better off using the chest pad to connect the GoPro to.

Not on a crossbow but on a compound bow. You will never get rid of the camera shake no matter what you do at the moment of release. However everything to that point looks good.

Can't get the camera to work so haven't tried that yet
