You could if you don't mind being stuck really close to the charger but the manufacturer don't recommend doing it.

No. They come with a very short, proprietary charging cable that powers off the unit while it is charging. Even if it didn't power off the charging cable is only a few inches long and you would be laying your head down to listen.
