• I really don’t think it can, but the tv remote and cable remote can definitely control your sound bar and sub.

• JBL Bar 3.1 is compatible with most Samsung, LG, Sony and Vizio TVs. It's possible to use your TV remote control to control your soundbar. Controllable functions are volume up/down and mute. Do make sure that the sound output of your TV is set to “External speaker”. Depending on the remote control, this function may not be compatible with the soundbar.
