“Does it project the sound forward so that if put in a tv stand or console the sound is not negatively affected?”

• It has front firing and up firing speakers. I would put the the sound bar on top of a TV stand only and not inside that blocks the top firing speakers.

• it should, although the "Atmos" channels, project sound upwards, so you may not get the Atmos channel sounding like you would if it was out in the open
