• This model Authentics 200 has no battery, so it must be plugged in all the time. The Authentics 300 has a built in battery if you need that.

• Thanks for your inquiry. Our JBL Authentics 200 needs to be plugged in when being used since it is a powered speaker. You may want to check out our JBL Authentics 300 as it has up to 8 hours of music playing time with 3 and a half hours of charging time. If you need more help, please contact our customer support.
