Does this speaker have to be connected to an outlet at all times? If not, what is the battery life on it before you have to connect it? null

This model Authentics 200 has no battery, so it must be plugged in all the time.   The Authentics 300 has a built in battery if you need that.

Thanks for your inquiry. Our JBL Authentics 200 needs to be plugged in when being used since it is a powered speaker. You may want to check out our JBL Authentics 300 as it has up to 8 hours of music playing time with 3 and a half hours of charging time. If you need more help, please contact our customer support.
