I also have a teal one, but my friend has a red one and another one of my friends have a black one. they all come with that color cord. So don't be alarmed. Lol

I thought it was a little odd when I first opened it, but it doesn't bother me. The speaker sounds great. I love mine. I hope you're enjoying yours!
