Sorry to hear of this problem you are having. Please try resetting the SB400 and the try pairing up the SB and sub again. This should fix the problem for you. In standby mode - Press "Volume-" (minus) button and "Surround mode" button simultaneously for approx 3 seconds - soundbar turns on - soundbar is reset. It is important not to press too hard on the Volume- button, because that will also press down the Volume+ end of the button, and the reset will not work then. If you press too hard, two clicks should be felt or heard, indicating that this is wrong.
