“My amp stays on at all times even with the remote wire unhooked. Dose this amp have an auto on feature when using high inputs? Or do I need to return the amp for it being defective?”

You have an interesting question right there. Our Club 5501 does not have an Auto Sense feature. As explained in the manual, if you're using a line level input, the INPUT switch must be set to LO and you must have a remote power line connected to the remote power terminal. If you are using a speaker level input, you must have the INPUT switch set to HI1 or HI2, and nothing should be connected to remote power terminal.
