Yes, these are built specifically to use for lap swimming. Just hook it up to your computer using a USB cable and click and drag your preferred music files (e.g. mp3 files) into the player. Note for swimming you will definitely want to have these in "local play" mode - just playing the locally stored mp3s - because this is probably the only way that you will have reliable music while doing your laps. Bluetooth signals travel only 36 feet and probably even less through water.

Yes, they can be used in the water up to 1m depth and for not more than 30 minutes.
