• A:Answer I found it to be very durable and has a pretty strong case. Dropping it once or twice shouldn't be a problem, but it has it's limits like anything else.

• A:Answer No, the Flip 5 uses/has PartyBoost which is not compatible with the Connect+ mode of the Flip 4. The Flip 5 will only pair with other speakers with PartyBoost.

• A:Answer The JBL Flip 5 is rated IPX 7 waterproof rating which means that it can only be submerged in water as deep as 3 feet for up to 30 minutes. Anything longer than that may cause damage for the speakers.

Q: Questionmy jbl flip 5 does not seem to be charging. what can i do, it is only about 2-3 years old, used maybe 50-60 hours

• A:Answer Thanks for your feedback. We're always looking for ways to improve. With our JBL Flip 5, please try using a different USB cable and USB charger (preferably one with a minimum 2 amp rating), as well as unplugging and re-plugging the cable from your device. The product's charging port may also become clogged with sand or grit. Examine the port. If necessary, use compressed air to clean. If the issue still persists, please contact our customer support.

Q: QuestionDoes this speaker automatically shut off to sa e battery if nothing is being played? Is there a function thar can prevent that? I use a Wonderboom now and it shuts off after 15 min of inactivity but I need a speaker that will NOT do that.

• A:Answer Our JBL Flip 5 also has an Auto-shutdown feature that can't be disabled. It will go on power-saving or standby mode after 10-15 minutes of inactivity if it doesn't detect usage from the source device.

Q: Questionwhat is difference between the 4 and the 5. Can you sync 2 of the flip 5 speakers to get stereo sound like the 4's?

• A:Answer You can sync two together with the party boost mode for a stereo "like" sound and you can pair two together with JBL's app for true stereo but I've heard it was a big hassle and buggy so I haven't tried. The 4s will not sync with the 5s.

Q: QuestionI have had my device for only a couple days. It is not loud at all. When I try and turn it up it makes a thud noise. Thud noise is loud but thats about it.

The JBL Flip 6 offers USB-C charging protection. That means a reminder sound will alert you to unplug if the connector detects water, salt, or any other chemicals. Q: QuestionIt's my understanding that this has a speaker on each end. Would this be a reason to never set it upright on one end? Does it roll when you set it on its side? Thanks

• A:Answer It can roll when set on its side but it is shaped so that it usually wont unless its on a really uneven surface. The "speakers" at each end are actually weights connected to rubber which uses the compression the speakers on the front of the unit make inside to produce a bass tone. You can stand this up on either end without worrying too much about damaging the product but you may want to set it up on its side if youre playing a song with a lot of bass because if the wighted disks make contact with the surface its on it can make a buzzing sound that gets annoying but usually there are no problems.
