“I'm looking to get new speakers on my 08 Acura TL. Would these and another pair of 6.5 JBL's be a good replacement (open to other suggestions), and would I need to buy a new amp to replace the stock one?”

Great speakers for the money. You will probably be ok with the current setup: the speaker are rated with an impedance of less than 3 ohms; which means that they require very little power to produce decent sound.

Make sure the amp you select is a 4 channel amp, if you select a 2 channel and run each pair per channel you will cut everything in half . That s my only suggestion and as far the qauility if speaker, for the money this combination is as good as you can purchase !
