These are 2ohm speakers. They run great in my car with factory amp & stereo. They can be used without an amp if your stereo can handle 2ohms, but you might want to go with a 4ohm speaker instead. Some amps can't handle 2ohms so be sure before you start the install and have an amp turning off on protect mode.
