Thanks for your question. Although our JBL PartyBox has an IPX4 rating, it suggests protection against water splashes but doesn't guarantee complete protection from liquid spillage. This may vary depending on how much coffee or liquid is spilled in the speaker. It is best to turn off the speaker and allow it to dry before using it again. Even though the speaker was spilled on the front side, please ensure that the protective covers of the speaker's back panel and charging port are securely closed to avoid damaging the internal components.
