- Answer Thanks for the review. The battery of our JBL Flip 5 will not overcharge. There is no harm in leaving your portable speaker connected to electricity at all times. You can simply pick it up, unplug it from the charger and be on your way, knowing that you have a full charge. However, if you’d like to conserve electrical energy, disconnect from charging. - Answer No, the JBL XTREME 2 is able to pair to other CONNECT + enabled speakers such as the JBL FLIP 4, The JBL FLIP 5 uses PARTYBOOST and it can be paired to another PARTYBOOST enabled speaker

- Answer JBL Flip 5's charging time is 2.5 hours. Either way, leaving the unit plugged will not cause any damage to the battery as it has a lithium-ion battery. QuestionSo what does it connect to just a cell phone? I need to hear my TV news from across the room, it currently sounds muffled from 20 feet away, no matter how lout the volume. I currently use a head set, but the warmth on my ears, puts me to sleep.

- Answer Our JBL Flip 5 speaker has an auto-off feature that will allow it t turn off by itself to save power when it no longer receives a signal. There is no way to disable this feature.

- Answer Our JBL Flip 5 uses the new Party Boost. The Party Boost is an improved version of the JBL Connect+, which improves the Bluetooth reliability of interspeaker connections. - Answer No, the Flip 5 uses/has PartyBoost which is not compatible with the Connect+ mode of the Flip 4. The Flip 5 will only pair with other speakers with PartyBoost.

- Answer The JBL Flip 5 is rated IPX 7 waterproof rating which means that it can only be submerged in water as deep as 3 feet for up to 30 minutes. Anything longer than that may cause damage for the speakers.

- Answer Thanks for your feedback. We're always looking for ways to improve. With our JBL Flip 5, please try using a different USB cable and USB charger (preferably one with a minimum 2 amp rating), as well as unplugging and re-plugging the cable from your device. The product's charging port may also become clogged with sand or grit. Examine the port. If necessary, use compressed air to clean. If the issue still persists, please contact our customer support.

- Answer I found it to be very durable and has a pretty strong case. Dropping it once or twice shouldn't be a problem, but it has it's limits like anything else.

QuestionDoes this speaker automatically shut off to sa e battery if nothing is being played? Is there a function thar can prevent that? I use a Wonderboom now and it shuts off after 15 min of inactivity but I need a speaker that will NOT do that.

- Answer Our JBL Flip 5 also has an Auto-shutdown feature that can't be disabled. It will go on power-saving or standby mode after 10-15 minutes of inactivity if it doesn't detect usage from the source device.
