If you have previously had the buds paired to another device, be sure to select the FORGET THIS DEVICE on the former device before pairing with a new device. The earbud instructions suggest taking the buds out, putting them in your ears and listening for the message that the buds are fully charged and ready to be paired. If they are already paired, then the message will say that they are fully charged and CONNECTED. The instructions suggested getting the earbuds out first and then turning on your Bluetooth on your device, rather than the other way around, which is what I did and it worked fine.
