• Yes, I'm in construction and takes noise levels down and the mic feature help's listen to people with ear phones in.

• They were a gift for someone, so couldn't tell you. I did try them out to make sure they worked and they were OK. When you fiddle with the touch controls it feels like a stethoscope against your ear. I would just spend the extra money and get something better that has studio quality sound and noise cancelation features.
