It should hold the phone quite nicely. I have a Samsung Ultra Galaxy S 21 which is a big phone. I had no issues getting it in or out. Nor did I have any issues with how I had it mounted - either horizontal or vertical, etc. It was a nice, tight fit without it scratching it while getting it out of the holder. I don't believe you'd have any issues with the phone you're describing.

If you place it on a tripod or GorillaPod via 1/4" thread screw, it is dependent on the tripod if you can rotate from Vertical to horizontal.
