Serendipitous find
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned a JOBY Gorilla Pod (magnetic) for several years and gotten much use out of it with my Canon S90. It was a practical purchase and worth every penny I spent for it. But over the years the photographic prowess of mobile phones has improved exponentially, so I hoped I could find an adapter that would allow me to extend the life of my Gorilla Pod as I migrated away from my point-and-shoot. Lo and behold I stumbled upon the JOBY - GripTight ONE Mount for Mobile Phones while killing some time at Best Buy! This mount is exactly what I wanted and was a no-brainer purchase. It easily holds my iPhone XS Max securely with its spring-loaded grips even with its Apple silicone case in place. And the adapter folds down to take up minimal space when not in use.

Sleek but not so sure sturdy

The positives; it’s sleek, folds up easily to avoid breaking, and expands to hold phone. Cons: when I set it to the portrait mode, it rolls over from the weight of the phone! It’s extremely frustrating as it shouldn’t do this. (See the 2 pics as the phone has rolled to that spot). It’s also pricy for this. I feel its not worth the price. Other than that, I like the slim & collapsible feature of this holder. Perhaps u have a better experience. Still worth a try. Hope it works better for you.

Selfies without a stick!

One the tripod gripping the top of a post to take a vertical picture.

- A:Answer The mount only screws onto whatever tripod you've got. If your tripod doesn't have a rotation of some sort, then you're only going to have a horizontal placement of your phone as the grip doesn't stretch far enough for a vertical placement.

- A:Answer I don't know about the Motorola but it held the Galaxy Ultra S 21 just fine. It's a bigger phone and I had no issues whatsoever with it holding it in many angles in order to take photos using a tripod.

Q: QuestionI need an iPhone holder to attach to my tripod that I can extend outward to hang over a table to fotograph pictures that are laid out on a table. What other attachment do I need for an extension? Would a selfie stick have any such attachment? Help!

- A:Answer The JOBY GripTight ONE MOUNT will NOT hold a device that is 5 1/4". Phone (plus case, if you're leaving the case on) must be between 56-91mm, or 2.2-3.6", per the GripTight One Mount package. The threaded mount is industry standard 1/4"-20 thread, and should work with any standard tripod mount that works with a traditional camera.
