“I can't find how to turn the volume down when listening to the Phone and GPS, it won't turn down using my phones media volume control, it doesn't show an option to turn it up or down by the stereo or via the ( + or - ) buttons. The volume is way too loud.”

You can adjust the guidance volume in the menu. Simply power up the unit, select SETUP, AV, GUIDANCE VOLUME, and adjust accordingly.
