“I cannot get my new kw-m750bt receiver to accept a USB connection with carplay. I have iphone 7plus w/latest ios. When I attempt to open carplay on the iphone, I see the challenge message to either enable bluetooth or go USB only. Neither option works.”

Apple Carplay isn't available as a wireless feature on this unit, it's plug-in only. So, you will need to either plug into the USB cable provided or get an adapter for your car and plug in. If it doesn't come up when you plug in then go to Settings --> General -->Carplay and search for the unit then connect. If that doesn't work, it's time to replace your iPhone. Even if you have the latest ios ,the phone itself probably lacks the specs to properly run it, given its age and the current requirements for optimal performance.
