“How can I tell how charge level, other than the red light going out when fully charged? When leaving, it helps to know if battery has 10% or 90% charge - other than learning by trial & error what I should have done.”

I have a Samsung Galaxy Fold 3, when I look in the Bluetooth settings, it shows the battery life left.
