No — the JVC NZ700 (like most high-end projectors) does not have to be ceiling mounted. You have multiple installation options: Ceiling Mount (most common): Keeps the projector out of the way, aligned with the screen, and provides the cleanest setup. Shelf or Table Mounting: Thanks to the NZ700’s motorized lens shift (vertical and horizontal), you can place it on a rear shelf, a table, or even on the floor, and still align the image properly without distorting it. Rear Projection (optional): If you have the space and a suitable screen, the projector can also be configured for rear projection. So, ceiling mounting is recommended for a permanent home theater setup, but it’s not required. The motorized lens controls make the NZ700 very flexible for different room layouts.
