Don't listen to the others. This would be fine for your purpose, but I would suggest adding a regular keyboard (plenty available with USB connectivity), which is almost always easier to type on than a laptop keyboard, a regular mouse (same reasons, same type connector), and an external monitor (HDMI connector). For the monitor, you could use your TV, if it has an HDMI port and is the right size for your vision, and thus would not be an additional cost. Keyboard and mouse together would be $20-$50). You could also use the built-in WordPad software or add more sophisticated word processing programs like: 1) Microsoft offers simpler versions of ALL its Office programs, for free, on their website. Unlike a program installed on your PC, they work off the internet, like the Google apps. Search "Office apps" or go to office.com. 2) There are a number of free Office programs from other sources: LibreOffice, WPS Office, etc. Google them. Don't buy more computer than you need!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I love this product but not for your purpose the keyboard is not great for typing for a long time. A regular laptop or chrome book with a bigger keyboard and screen might be better for this.
