Mounting on a stone fireplace is a lot harder than mounting to stone (no studs) If you are careful it can work if you have the right tools. First you need a drill bit made for use on stone;I would position the holes so that all are on a stone and not the grout. also check to insure that you are not drilling on a natural fractue line in the stone; most drilling in this type of hard material, will require an expandable insert to hold properely. IMPORTANT...make sure the drill bit is the proper size for the insert and the screw is the right size and made for stoneand do not over tighten. The Kanto - Full-Motion Wall Mount is the best wall mount that I have found for my TV. It is really a full range of motion mount...you change the tilt, the angle, the rotation and the distance from the wall. With all of these functions it will be much easier to position on the stones.
