Yes, you cab use without apps. Load content onto a USB stick or SD Card. However, there shouldn't be problems connecting to Google Playstore. If someone setup a previous WIFI connection, you may have to do a reset via menu to lose that setup. Being a school, does your Wi-Fi have any security limitations? As for Bluetooth, you should be able to connect easily as well. Tech support can be found at karaokeusa.com/cs
