Karaoke songs are recorded with two tracks. One for lead vocals. One for background vocals, if they exist in the song, and music. Karaoke machines will cancel the lead vocal track leaving just the music track playing. Karaoke machines do not remove lead vocals in regular CD or MP3 music. Only songs formatted for Karaoke.
