• They are concentric so they can be vertical or horizontal.

• You could set on side with the coaxial driver design the off axis response is very good.

• Either - the "Uni-Q" driver has the tweeter in the center of the woofer so they can be used horizontally. Some reviews have bought a single third speaker for a center (there is a site that sells them individually for $199).

• Doesn't matter. Some people use them as a center speaker and lay it horizontally
