I don't have a Subaru. However, I bought a wiring kit from Amazon. You can find it easily for your car. It wasn't expensive. For the steering wheel controls I bought an axxess metra for $51. I printed out the instructions and it worked. However, I didn't read one of the instructions last sentence and forgot to hook up one wire. I called customer service and they had my steering controls working within 10 minutes.
