It just hides away. If you like spending money go for the $699. What's the purpose of having a unit that has to be hidden if you use your system. Normally motorized units are put in older model show cars with all the different gadgets to show off and hide when it's not being shown.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The DDX8706S is the same model. This model offers the option of tilting the screen as the reason it mentions its motorized. The tilting of the screen would help if in case there is glare or sun coming in and you can't see the radios display. This model lets you tilt that screen. The face plate however is not removeable.
