Would this fit in a 2001 silverado 1500? null

I did the 30 minute free Geek squad evaluation. They set me up with this in my 2005 Toyota Camry. One thing to note, if you do volume control through your steering wheel, you have to buy an additional item (can't remember how much, wasn't that much), to go along with it.
