go to kenwood web sit go to 601 go down a few inch then support will pop up on the top right click on it for the manual. in a nut shell push WIFI to turn on and off file protection. if your turn off rec to get into dash cam it will not auto turn the rec back on you when have to start rec when you done play with the dash cam now it will auto rec as needed
