QuestionCan you see a live view of the camera from the smart phone app?

- Answer In a way yes, It's kind of tedious getting it to live view. you have to stop recording on the camera. Then you have to connect to it via wifi and then open the kenwood app and view it that way. and record that way if you want to keep live view going. definitely not simultaneous.

QuestionWhen I start my car, the screen stays black. The blue ‘on’ light is on. I have unplugged it multiple times and even tried to reset the dashcam. Is there a way to help this?

QuestionI can’t seem to get the camera to record more than two minutes & 32 seconds. I’ve tried everything I can think of. And when I go into the settings and change the recording length setting from three minutes to one minute, it records one minute less! Help.

- Answer The camera breaks up video files into smaller clusters on purpose for transferring and editing. This is normal. The camera does not stop recording so you should see all your videos, just broken down into segments.

QuestionDoes it record continuously and overwrite the oldest recording?

- Answer So far I have not found 'loop recording' to work. When the card is close to full, it will shrink the size of the .mov files, which then become unplayable. When the card runs out of space, no more recording, and I get a message to format the SD card.

- Answer The hard kit wiring would be needed if wanting to capture an incident when the vehicle is not running. To check into this further please consult with Kenwood's customer service team they have more information about the product.

- Answer The camera does not need to be professionally installed if just putting it on the dash. If you want to do the hard kit wiring then at that point you might need to if you are not familiar with the wiring.

QuestionOnce my microSD is full(128gb) the dashcam stops recording, how do I make it record non-stop while deleting oldest files? This is so inconvenient because you notice the dashcam not doing it's job while driving and it defeats the purpose of having it

- Answer You need to go into the menu. Go to format and select it. It will erase unsaved files and your good to go. I would suggest printing the owners manual off the web or download it to your phone. The manual will tell you everything you need to know.

- Answer Your dashcam have the Data Privacy mode "on", it will then only keep the last 4 files. Set it to "off" and it will record X numbers of files, as you want it to.

- Answer I suppose it could - when you download the videos and use (view) the gps option - it might display error or the car was going in reverse. So if you needed the video for legal purposes you might be sol.

QuestionI installed my camera was working good now when it comes on I have a padlock on the right side of screen and it records from 0 to 60 then starts over my wife’s doesn’t have this hers works good so how do I get rid of this padlock!

- Answer Turn off G-sensor (or set sensitivy down) your driving into bumps (or a bumpy car) makes it beleive it is a crash or something, hence keeping the files as protected.

- Answer dash WIFI is not a true WIFI I.E. internet, you phone/ pad will keep auto join other WIFI, turn off the other WIFI auto join keep dash cam auto on now your phone/ pad will stay on dash WIFI ... dash WIFI is only from dash cam to your phone only this will give it faster then bluetooth speed, but it fast to take the sd card to computer then down load to phone.

- Answer 1) Download the Kenwood firmware from their www site to your PC. 2) Downloaded file / folder is zip compressed, pack it up, on your PC. 3a) Copy file (the packed up version) to any SDXC card which is outside of dashcam. So card need to be connected to a card reader / usb stick for SDXC card, from your PC. NOTE: to not connect to your SDXC card, while this card is in your Kenwood dashcam. Any cards within the dashcam is write protected as long it is inside of dashcam. 3b) Example: I sent the packed up file to my own email, which is mirrored on my Samsung cellphone, with a SDXC card, downloaded it to top file directory (as file only, not in any folder, then moved the cellphone SDXC card into the dashcam, upgraded and moved SDXC card back into cell again). 4) Then move your SDXC card into your dashcam, power up & answe yes to firmware upgrade, takes some minutes.

- Answer The connection on the camera itself is a mini USB (not micro). A search for right angle mini USB should give you what you need.

- Answer go to kenwood web sit go to 601 go down a few inch then support will pop up on the top right click on it for the manual. in a nut shell push WIFI to turn on and off file protection. if your turn off rec to get into dash cam it will not auto turn the rec back on you when have to start rec when you done play with the dash cam now it will auto rec as needed
