It's rated at 50Wx4 maximum, 22Wx4 full bandwidth <1%THD. Presumably, that's into 4 ohms, it's lowest rated impedance. That's about all you can get from 12V. High power requires a switching power supply to increase the voltage available, which typically can't be packaged inside a heat unit. This is why all loud stereos use external amps. Of course the majority of car audio is equipment is rated way higher than the true useable specs, but Kenwood is being more conservative here than the generic decks currently flooding the market.
