To get satellite operation, do I need an antenna & kit? null

If you have a separate radio, you can jack in thru the AUX port on the radio. That's the cheapest option I've found. If you switch vehicles you have to remember to take the satellite unit, but you're only paying for 1 radio and subscription that way.

Yeah you do, I had a old xm radio antenna but when they installed my radio they said I need to upgrade to the newest version I say it was $100.

The KDC-BT778HD is compatible with SiriusXM. It requires the optional SXV300 SiriusXM tuner which is purchased separately.
