“I have a Alpine 15 inch Type R subwoofer and Kenwood 1000 watt amp. My amp keeps shutting off then turning right back on after couple seconds, but only when turned up to high volume. Does that mean it's not enough power for that subwoofer?”

Could be a couple of things. Maybe even a bad connection. We recommend to visit a pro installer to see why you are going into PROTECT.
