“Do the ohms need to match the output from the head unit? These are 4 ohms and i think my head unit puts out 2 ohms. What happens to the sound performance if i install these?”

Your head unit should be 4ohms most of the time, it may be greater on more specialized piece of equipment, but normally stock and aftermarket head units are 4ohms. You will be fine hooking these up.
