• It has a holder for the filter, that appears to be a carbon filter. No paper filters needed. It comes with a reusable, fine mesh metal filter that I just empty and rinse out.

• I don't think there is a place for a water filter. for the coffee filters I use the regular round paper filters.

• Kuerig has 2 filter kit sizes, one tall one and one short one. This machine requires the smaller one, and it works like a charm. I just use the normal size, undyed filters from the store.
