QuestionMy brand new k-duo plus is only heating the water to a warm temperature. 1) is there a temperature control 2) does the drip tray double as a heating plate and if so how do I turn it on

- Answer The K-Duo Plus coffee maker has a preset brew temperature to optimize taste. The temperature of a dispensed 6, 8, 10, or 12oz/cup beverage can range from 170-190 degrees Fahrenheit. Descaling regularly removes mineral build up that can affect taste and quality, ensuring your coffee maker brews a perfect cup, every time. Depending on the mineral content of your water, calcium deposits or scale may build up in your brewer. Scale is non-toxic but if left unattended can hinder brewer performance. Regularly descaling your brewer every 3 months helps maintain the heating element, and other internal parts that come in contact with water. - Answer The K-Duo Plus coffee maker comes with a gold tone reusable mesh filter, but you can also fit a flat-bottom paper filter that is compatible with a 12-cup coffee maker. The water reservoir can be positioned on either side or in the rear of brewer to better fit your kitchen layout. The base of the reservoir can be rotated into the desired position and there are instructions printed on the bottom of the brewer for assistance with adjusting it. We hope this is helpful!

- Answer Your coffee maker has a descale light indicator that will only illuminate if there is a severe case of scale build-up causing a change in brewing pressure. We do not recommend waiting for the descale light to illuminate. We generally recommend descaling your brewer every 3 months. Customers with a higher mineral content may consider descaling more frequently. Additionally, if your water does have a high mineral content, you may want to consider using water from a different source.
