It actually does have a temperature adjustment

Please try again later.Yes, you can lower temperature and we tried that to see if it would not melt the k-cups since we were having problems with coffee grounds getting into the coffee and getting error messages about the needle getting plugged. Make sure you do not have soft water....did not see that "caveat" on the outside of the box....as we just installed a brand new water softner. We had to return it and get the basic unit.
