“I have a K-Select Keurig Brewer. I bought water filters on line for it. When I soak them to put in the machine the water turns black. This can't be healthy, can it? What causes this problem.”

You soak and rinse till water is clear ,then use it for your coffee machine
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thanks for your question. The water filter cartridges are made of granulated carbon. After soaking the filter cartridge in fresh water for 5 minutes, make sure you rinse the filter cartridge under running water for 60 seconds. We hope this helps!
