Thanks for your question. The K-Duo coffee maker is compatible with the Keurig Rear Reservoir Water Filter Starter Kit. The Water Filter Cartridges help keep your water fresh and clean. The cartridges are for use with your Water Filter Handle (sold separately), an easy to use, in-brewer filtration unit. For best results, replace your cartridge every 2 months or after 60 tank refills. We hope this helps!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It is recommended every two months or if you are consistent coffee drinker, after 60 tank refills. The filter really gives you a better tasting cup of coffee in my opinion, doesn't dilute the full flavors, especially if you grind your own beans. You will have to check if your Keuring has the filter, if not, you will need the Filter Starter Kit which goes inside of the water reservoir behind the machine. It is an easy snap in/off process, just ensure you soak the filter for 5 minutes before using.

The holder has an indexing wheel that helps remind you when to change filter. The filter should be changed regularly in order to prevent mineral buildup inside the heating tank and enhances the taste of your beverage.
